Christmas cards all year 'round & CAS on sundays

Christmas Cards all year 'round want cookies or gingerbread.
I've made a card using a felt gingerbread men, a doiley and a sticker.
The sentiment says "Eat, drink and be merry"

At Clear and simple on Sundays they have asked us to use Washi tape.
My grey background is cut from Christmas paper.
I made a tag using 5 different Christmas washi tapes then added a matching strip at the bottom.
My sentiment is actually on the washi.

The tape that looks black is actually gold.

I'm also entering at Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge

Let's get sketchy.

Another layout for Let's get sketchy.
Here is the sketch.

Because my photos are retro and bright I followed that lead.
My background paper is from Webster's pages. I used a metallic red for my photo mat and added a red doiley in the back.
The black border sticker was from my Counterfeit kit and the 3 pennants at the bottom are from scraps.
We visited this diner in Phoenix Arizona when I was there. It took me back to Happy Days.

Shopping our stash & the Holly and the Ivy.

At Shopping our stash this time they want transportation.
I'm hoping sleighs count.
Yes, it is another Christmas card.

I'm also entering this one at The holly and the Ivy. where it is anything Christmas

Rochelle spears rewind challenge.

I loved the bird singing on this sketch.
It evoked happy memories of my trip, especially to the Phoenix Botanical gardens.I was expecting cacti and wow did I see some. The most famous variety is the Saguaro-pronounced sowaro.
I've made a layout about those.
My title is in a different spot as it was too crowded in the original area for it.
I'm pleased that I have used another cork border plus the last of the Studio calico stickers.
My sewing is not brilliant at the moment as I have 3 ulcers on my right eye meaning my vision is blurry.

Let's get sketchy.

I've chosen corrugated cardboard for this photo of Montezuma's castle in Arizona.
It was built by native Americans around 1100 A.D.
I loved the layering in the rocks there and the stripes on both papers reflect that.

It is for the first November sketch at Let's get sketchy.
Despite having used all the papers in my Counterfeit kit, I'm still working through the embellishments. On this I used another cork strip, plus the frame stickers behind the photo and the alphas.

Stuck?! sketch #2

Here is the November 15th sketch at Stuck?! sketches.

I had 2 sheets of Fancy Pants Happy Place papers. One had folded birds all over it.I immediately thought of my photo.
There were also 3 flairs so I used them all on this layout.
Despite pressing on the scanner I still had shadows.(sorry)

Freshly made sketches & Jingle Belles

Here is the new sketch at Freshly made sketches.
Luckily I chose a paper which had a pattern in the bottom right hand corner already.
The holly bough was a die cut I had as was the sentiment.

I also made this card using some new washi tape I've bought.

Next is for Jingle Belles where they want thank you cards for Christmas.
I've used the same paper but kept it simple.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Tuesday Morning sketches has this sketch for a card.

Using a piece of paper and adhesive border strip from my Counterfeit Kit I made the following card.
It just happened that I had 2 butterflies so they went on the card too.

Show us your stuff

November 2017

The theme at Show us your stuff is precious metal.
You can get no more precious than gold.

Thinking about my recent trip the biggest gold item I saw was the MGM lion in Las Vegas,so the layout is about him. I used the bowtie paper from WeRMK as my background......nice and bright!
I misted the right hand side using gold mist.

Next I put a vertical strip of gold showcard as my photo matting.
While over there I bought a set of "Me and my big ideas" Soft spoken embellishments of Las Vegas.
These too are metallic. The star shape matches the bow tie angles.

My hand made item is the flair from funky flairs saying "so much fun".The title is from an old set of BG letters...must be 15 years ago I bought those.
Excuse the shadow across the layout, the flair caused that despite me pressing down when I scanned it.

Plie it on challenge.

I've made this card for Pile it on challenge where they want BIG sentiment.

I'm also entering it at Crafty Animals, as it has a bird.
Cute card Thursday want sparkles (paper under bird has a glittery sheen.)
Simply papercraft  is anything goes.

A bit more time to craft is anything goes
Colour crazy Challenge is anything goes

Paper Issues Take 5 Tuesday

To complete this challenge I've chosen a brown and red paper, plus a striped paper.
I've kept 2 cards from my visit to Rock Springs pie shop (near Sedona, Arizona) which are memorablia. I've used 3 stickers-the pumpkin, pottery jar and the border strip in white.

Outside Rock Springs pie shop is the covered wagon and the pumpkin pie was almost demolished by the time I remembered to take a photo.

Sketches in Thyme.

This is the sketch at Sketches in Thyme.
It is very similar to the Halloween layout I did the other day.
I've used all items from my Counterfeit kit including the big bracket shape, strips stickers, Basic Grey die cut petals (canvas) ,a label from Kaisercraft and some enamel dots.
We visited Vegas a week or so after the shooting so there were people at the sign laying wreaths etc.

Christmas card throwdown & crafty Hazelnut

Christmas card Throwdown has this card shape to inspire us.

I've chosen a circle rather than an oval with a Christmas angel in the centre.
I also kept to the colour scheme with my background paper and sentiment block.
There are some punched hearts in pink and lemon to blend with the angel.

I searched for a while before finding any. On this patterned paper was a prancing reindeer made from silver stars. A co-ordinating paper featured my sentiment.
Simple!

Cardz4guyz

At Cardz4guyz the theme is Oh Christmas tree.
I'm in the middle of making Christmas cards so this suits me fine.
My cardstock is yellow, but it makes a nice background for the trees.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

This is for Tic tac toe challenge.
https://tictactoechallenge.com/
One of the papers in my Counterfeit kit featured a silver tree on black background.
I've cut it to fit on yellow cardstock and used domino (dots) washi tape along the top.
My card is CAS. I've gone along the bottom row horizontally.

I'm hoping the silver shows up more clearly on your monitor,it looks dark on mine :)

Challenge #1 CKC & stuck sketches.

Just the opposite

November often gets a bad rap and many here in Europe consider November to be the greyest, dampest, dullest months of the year. Some years ago, I decided that I was going to find the positive in this special (for me) month and actively looked for the bright moments that would make me happy. And I have to tell you that there are a lot of them - there are many more blue-sky days than I ever realised and the festive lights and decorations that can often be found in November in the run up to Christmas can always brighten up even those dull, grey days. And of course, it's the end of autumn and beginning of winter, both of which make me very happy!

Be inspired to find the positive and create a project about it.

Here in Australia November means the full blooming of spring. You can't help but be positive.
************************************************************************************************************
I recently went for a trip to Las Vegas.
We stayed at New York, New York which I didn't like much.
Our room's window was right in front of the roller coaster, so we heard screams most of the time, especially late at night.
Image may contain: sky, bridge and outdoor

This could have been a negative but we decided to make it a positive, and pretended to scream with our hands in the air every time one went by.
We also decided to go see what all the fuss was about.
On approaching the ride I chickened out.
It was just TOO HIGH.(I have ridden roller coasters before).

I've chosen a bright SEI paper from my counterfeit kit as it typifies Las Vegas...crazy!
I also added a title embellishment I bought there.
The strips underneath feature my journaling and I added a tag I made using washi tape and twine.
The square frame at the top is from Studio calico. I've used the extra bling stars on it.

Here's my layout.

I'm entering it on Stuck sketches where this is the sketch.

Scraproom jump start challenge.

The scraproom has this sketch for a jumpstart challenge in November.
That is exactly what I needed to start on my Counterfeit Kit.

I had bought some glittery pumpkins in Michaels while I was in Phoenix,so I used them on this layout. Everything else is from my kit.

The brown border is equal ,my scanner cuts the bottom off layouts.

Feeling Sketchy

Sketch #180
This is the challenge at Feeling Sketchy.

I used thin washi tape around then cut the centre "tag" from matching showcard. I've decorated it with cork edging and a neutral tag.

Two challenges in one.

Back from my holiday to USA and getting back into the swing of scrapping and cardmaking again.
I'm dipping my toe into my November Counterfeit Kit on this card.
I've used twine and a Kraft &Chevron tag on here.

I'm using the sketch from Sketch'n'scrap for this card. I'm also using the criteria of only Red and Kraft from Merry Monday.

My cardstock is showcard in a bright red. The snowman's head has been in my Christmas embellishments for years.

November Counterfeit Kit

Our kit this month is from Citrus Kits.

As I won't be back from my holiday until the 8th, I've opted for a smaller kit this month.
YES! A Small kit!
I've named my kit "Bowtie"
Here's my papers:

Some of them are unbranded but the bottom left is SEI "On the coast"
The "bowtie" one is WR Memory keepers .I have 2 sheets. The black bowties are actually holes.
The blue patterned one is October Afternoon "5 and dime".

My embellishments:
There is an assortment in the colours of blue/gold/orange/cork.
I have NO GOLD.
I may use  INCA GOLD PASTE on something throughout the month.

Jumpstart challenge at the scraproom.

The October jumpstart challenge at the scraproom looks like this.

I'm using my November Counterfeit kit on this. (Shhh! don't tell anyone).
As I will be away until the 9th November, I think I'm justified in starting early.

The satin feel sun is from Flourish with a bling.

Here's my layout.
